Here is how you can do this on your computer.

If YouTube is blocked by Restricted Mode

Restricted Mode is often turned on by schools, workplaces, or parents.

  • On a computer:
    1. Scroll to the bottom of any YouTube page.
    2. Look for Restricted Mode in the footer.
    3. If it says "On," click and try to turn it off.
    4. If it’s locked by your administrator, only they can change it.

Google Chrome / Edge

  1. Click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions) at the top-right of your browser.
  2. Find your ad blocker extension (like AdBlock, uBlock Origin, AdGuard, etc.).
  3. You have a few choices:
    • Pause/disable on all sites → Right-click the extension → select Pause or Turn off.
    • Allow ads on a specific site → Click the extension icon → choose Don’t run on this site or Whitelist site.
    • Remove it completely → Go to chrome://extensions/ → toggle it off or click Remove.
