Although these instructions mentions the Blue Book App, the procedures are the same for all testing apps.

  1. It is recommended to performing ChromeOS updates. Most of our Chromebooks are compatible with Bluebook and the other testing apps. But it does require ChromeOS 114 or higher. Occasionally, Bluebook won't update when there are pending OS updates. While the student is logged in, please have them check that Chrome is up-to-date, listed in settings.

  2. For Blue Book specifically, for example, updates are sent out that have to be given time to run in order to use it. Once completed, the app will open and give you the ability to log in, but don’t. There is a ‘test’ option in the upper right, run that.

  3.  Troubleshooting: if it looks like this, the student may be still logged in and the app will not work. Have the student log back in to log out. If the testing app still does not load the unit will need to be power washed **

  4. If the apps are not listed, the unit needs to be power washed**.

    ** POWER WASHING

  • esc refresh power
  • ctrl alt D
  • enter space enter (on some newer models it is just enter)
  • student mobile
  • device enrollment

  1. If Power Washing didn’t resolve the issue, please have the student go to the MRC to get a loaner device. Thank you.
